Maverick Evans “Murphy” is a 2016 AQHA Peptoboonsmal bred gelding. He stands 15.3 hands tall. Murphy joined our family as a three year old. Other than his first initial rides, Tyrel has trained Murphy on the ranch.

Murphy is a stand out horse. He is athletic and fluid in his movements. Murphy has good bone and a stout stature. Although powerful, his personality is warm and friendly. He is an ideal ranch horse with great potential as a head horse prospect.

Just about any ranch job we can think of, Murphy has done. He has a great deal of experience in a branding trap. From dragging calves, to head and heel branding, Murphy has proven himself reliable. He has a strong and powerful run that’s been essential for doctoring outside cattle. Murphy has gathered cattle off of plains, desert, and high elevation mountains.

We have used him considerably for pen work. He has been ridden in a background lot, pulling sick cattle, running tub, and sorting. Murphy is our go to horse for night riding during heifer calving. He has some experience in the arena team roping, ranch rodeos, and picking up.

Aside from us using Murphy, a few novice riders have thrown a leg over him. He has been a gentleman every time.

Murphy is an asset and friend to our family. We are proud to offer this exceptional gelding to a new home where he can continue to shine.
